Gateway To The Outback Pathways Geraldton » What to Do » Gateway To The Outback Pathways
Geraldton is an excellent point to launch your venture into the region's hinterland, where new self-drive tours known as the Outback Pathways traverse the Mid West, Murchison and Gascoyne regions. This series of three trails use interpretative signage to open your eyes to the wonders of this ancient landscape. The Wool Wagon landscape documents the region's rich pastoral history, beginning from Geraldton and heading inland to Yalgoo and north to Exmouth. The Miners Pathway helps you learn about the region's rich mining industry and its colourful history by taking you on a figure eight journey past Yalgoo, Paynes Find, Mt Magnet, Sandstone, Cue and Meekatharra. The Kingsford-Smith Mail Run follows the path of Kingsford-Smith himself as he delivered mail across the remote yet beautiful region from Meekatharra to Carnarvon. |
