Coastal Exploring Australia's Coral Coast » Indian Ocean Drive - Coastal Exploring
The stretch of coast from Cervantes to Kalbarri is a local favourite for small boat and beach fishing. It's also ideal for windsurfing, and just the place for a relaxing holiday.
The Pinnacles, near Cervantes, should be your first stop. These bizarre limestone pillars, at their best when the sun is low, rise out of yellow quartz sand in Nambung National Park. They make an iconic photo opportunity.

Geraldton - the icon of Indian Ocean Drive
The Abrolhos Islands, near Geraldton, are a major source for the black pearl and rock lobster industries and are also famous for the Batavia shipwreck of 1629. Visit by plane or boat for walk trails, seabirds and snorkelling.
In Geraldton, the Live Lobster Factory is an entertaining eye-opener, while the museum houses the hull of the Batavia. The Sydney Memorial is a great place from which to view the city below.

Experience the beauty of Kalbarri's dramatic landscape
The rugged terrain of the Kalbarri National Park, carved by the magnificent Murchison River, is ablaze with wildflowers usually from July through to October.
The park's gorges, including Nature's Window, are easily accessed by vehicle and short walks. Some roads may be unsealed which can be an issue for hire cars. This stunning arch formation in the centre of the park offers spectacular views of the Murchison River.
